Tottenham Complete Stunning Xavi Simons Signing in Record Deal

Xavi Simons Joins Spurs in €60m Move

Tottenham Hotspur have pulled off a sensational coup, beating European rivals to the signing of Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig.

The 22-year-old Dutch international has signed a five-year contract until 2030, with the option of a further two years, in a deal worth a guaranteed €60m (£51m). With sell-on clauses included, the package could rise towards €70m, making it one of the most significant transfers in Spurs’ modern history.

Fabrizio Romano confirmed the move as a “here we go” late last night, with David Ornstein adding that Simons had completed his medical and signed personal terms. Florian Plettenberg reports that Leipzig insisted on a significant sell-on clause, pushing the total value of the package to a potential record-breaking £125m if all conditions are met.

Tottenham are planning to unveil Simons before their upcoming match, with Paul O’Keefe describing him as “Fully COYS.” Chelsea had been tracking the player but never made a formal offer, leaving Spurs to swoop decisively in the final days of the window.

Savinho Situation Still Alive

While Simons is through the door, Spurs remain active. Savinho is still hoping to make the switch to north London, despite Manchester City’s reluctance to sanction his exit. Bleacher Report state the Brazilian is unhappy at City blocking the deal and has made his feelings clear, keeping Spurs’ hopes alive heading into the final stretch of the window.

Akanji on Spurs’ Radar

Defensively, Tottenham have enquired about Manuel Akanji. Fabrizio Romano reports that the Manchester City centre-back is one of three names on Spurs’ shortlist as they look to strengthen the heart of their backline before the deadline.

Solomon Interest From Leicester

Meanwhile, Ben Jacobs confirms that Leicester City are showing interest in Spurs winger Manor Solomon. Injuries have disrupted his Tottenham career so far, and the Foxes could provide him with a new opportunity for regular minutes.
