Tottenham Hotspur: Latest Transfer News and Squad Updates

Ivan Perisic’s Future at Tottenham in Doubt

Renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano has cast significant doubt on Ivan Perisic’s future at Tottenham Hotspur. According to Romano, it’s highly unlikely that Perisic will play for Spurs again. His injury, coupled with strong interest from Hajduk Split, makes his departure in the January transfer window a strong possibility. Romano suggests that Hajduk Split’s persistent efforts could lead to Perisic’s exit, with a 99% certainty that he won’t feature for Tottenham anymore.

Jonathan Rowe Attracting Spurs’ Interest

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in Norwich winger Jonathan Rowe. Alasdair Gold, a reliable source on Spurs news, reports that the club has not yet made a move for the 20-year-old, who has an impressive record of 12 goals and three assists in 28 matches this season. Sky Sports’ Lyall confirms that Rowe is on Tottenham’s radar, along with several other Premier League clubs.

James Maddison’s Potential Return

Alasdair Gold also reports on James Maddison’s situation, indicating that there’s hope for Maddison to play in the cluster of three matches following the upcoming mini winter break. This news will be a boost for Spurs, as Maddison’s involvement could be crucial in their upcoming fixtures.

Ryan Sessegnon and Others on the Transfer List

Footy Insider reveals that Ryan Sessegnon does not feature in manager Ange Postecoglou’s plans, with Tottenham open to offers for him. Similarly, Spurs are willing to listen to offers for Bryan Gil and Sergio Reguilón, indicating a potential reshuffle in the squad.

Djed Spence’s Troubled Time at Tottenham

James Olley sheds light on Djed Spence’s situation at Tottenham. Initially brought in by former head coach Antonio Conte, Spence’s time at Spurs has been marred by issues. His commitment was questioned due to instances of late arrivals for training and concerns raised by Spurs’ performance director Gretar Steinsson about his off-field behavior. Ange Postecoglou, known for prioritizing character in his squad, reportedly had doubts about Spence from their first meeting and has since decided that Spence does not fit into his plans.

Dragusin on Choosing Spurs Over Bayern

In a positive note for Tottenham, new signing Dragusin revealed why he chose Spurs over Bayern Munich. He was attracted by the Premier League and felt that Tottenham, showing interest in him a month before the transfer window, was the right step in his career. His ambition to play in the Premier League and the trajectory he sees in the Tottenham squad were key factors in his decision.

Conclusion

Tottenham Hotspur’s transfer window activities and squad dynamics are undergoing significant changes. While the potential departures of Ivan Perisic, Ryan Sessegnon, Bryan Gil, Sergio Reguilón, and Djed Spence indicate a shift in the team’s structure, the interest in Jonathan Rowe and the return of James Maddison could bring new energy to the squad. Dragusin’s arrival and his reasons for joining Spurs show the club’s appeal to young talents. As the January transfer window progresses, Spurs fans will be keenly watching these developments.

  1. Quintilian B. Nasty

Interest in Rowe makes a lot of sense if Gil is going out the door. He’s mainly a left winger but can also play on the right and as an attacking midfielder. I initially wondered about a logjam at the left wing position with Son, Werner, and Solomon. However, with Perisic likely gone, I guess it makes sense. He’s a versatile player that Ange seems to like.
