Tottenham Hotspur is making significant strides in shaping its squad, with contract renewals, potential signings, and ongoing negotiations. Here’s a look at the latest developments:
Destiny Udogie: A Rising Star Secures His Future
Destiny Udogie, the Italian fullback, has reached an agreement with Spurs for a new long-term deal. This development, confirmed by club sources and reported by Fabrizio Romano, comes after Udogie’s impressive performance, including scoring his first goal for the club. His new contract, which includes a salary rise, reflects his growing importance to the team and his evolution from a promising talent to a key player.
Illia Zabarnyi: On Tottenham’s Radar
In their quest for defensive reinforcements, Tottenham continues to monitor Bournemouth centre-back Illia Zabarnyi. Previously earmarked by former director of football Fabio Paratici, Zabarnyi remains a potential target to bolster Spurs’ defense under Ange Postecoglou’s guidance.
Other Centre-Back Targets
Tottenham’s search for defensive solidity doesn’t stop with Zabarnyi. The club has several names on its shortlist, including Morato, Giorgio Scalvini, Lloyd Kelly, Tosin Adarabioyo, and Marc Guehi. This diverse list indicates Spurs’ commitment to strengthening their backline with a mix of youth and experience.
Kalvin Phillips: A Midfield Prospect
In the midfield department, Tottenham is among the clubs showing interest in Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips. The pursuit of Phillips suggests Spurs’ intent to add depth and quality to their midfield options.
Hugo Lloris: A Potential Surprise Move
In a surprising turn of events, Newcastle United is considering a move for Hugo Lloris. If Eddie Howe decides he needs extra cover for Nick Pope, Lloris could be on their radar, a move that would be a significant shift for the veteran goalkeeper.
Dele Alli: Negotiations with Everton
On the negotiation front, Tottenham’s proposal to reduce the £10M fee for Dele Alli to £8M has been rejected by Everton. The deal, which also involves modifying the number of appearances required, is seen as a way to ease Everton’s financial concerns while increasing Spurs’ chances of receiving a fee.
As Tottenham Hotspur navigates through these developments, the club is clearly focused on building a balanced and competitive squad. From securing the future of rising stars like Udogie to exploring new signings and managing ongoing negotiations, Spurs are actively shaping their team to meet the challenges of the competitive football landscape.
If we’re going to get a proper center-back, I’m for Guehi even though it’ll be expensive. Give Ange what he needs considering how Romero can be rash at times. After him, I’m for Branthwaite or Godfrey from Everton or Tosin. Considering our issues with negotiations with Everton over Dele though, are they willing to deal with us? Heck, why not bring back Dele and take either Branthwaite or Godfrey?
SPURS SLEEPING ON ORBAN
With a need for a generational talent Spurs could give themselves a gift that will keep on giving for years, a loan to Gent for DONLEY/Lankshear and 30M in Jan for Orban woulld replace Harry Kane goalscoring potential in our attack. A shorter but twofooted version of Drogba, who made Chelsea a European power, is not someone we should hesitate to spend 30M on.
Angeball does not require an aerial dominantion based game, which is what Veliz offers, however, the two can easily complement each other.
LANGE MUST PERFORM
Sebastian Caceres of Uruguay and Ben Godfrey of Everton are the two I would take a punt on to have them signed on Jan 1. This would allow Dorrington to go out on loan, Dier’s contract to be terminated and Ange to rest easy with a full compliment of CBs.
Another option not mentioned is Ito from Stuttgart who can play LCB or LB and would be perfect Van de Ven backup now and post Davies era.
Love Kalvin.. but don’t think he’ll want to come here.. knowing that he’ll still has to fight for a place in starting 11.. 😔
